Hi guys! Did you miss me? I really missed blogging this week but I wasn’t feeling well emotionally and physically but I’m glad I’m feeling better and I’m able to start blogging again.
Today, I will be writing about my recent trip to Poutine Feast. This year, they held it in Mississauga and my best friend and I went together. I saw the event on Facebook and thought it would be a great event to attend. I texted my best friend Shantelle and asked her if she was free and she said YES! I was so happy.
Poutine feast is essentially, a festival where local vendors sell poutine of different varieties.
Poutine is something that I enjoy but I never really purchase. My brother is actually the first one who made me try poutine and I’ve loved it ever since but I only purchase it occasionally. I’m trying to watch what I eat.
On the way to the festival we stopped to get an ice cappuccino and then we decided to uber there. When the uber arrived at the destination given on the map, we realized that we were so lost. There was nothing in that area, just grass. LOL. So we got out of the car, walked and found the location of the feast.
There were a lot of people in the park. At first, we couldn’t locate the poutine and we wondered if we were in the right location. But then we walked to the back of the venue and found the poutine. Yay!
This is my best friend Shantelle who I went to the festival with.
We couldn’t decide on which poutine truck to go to, so we just chose a random one. We decided to try one of the new poutine flavours.I chose beef poutine and my friend chose bacon. They both cost 17$ each. The one on the left is my friends and the one on the right is mine
Yeah, it was probably not the best idea to try a new poutine that day. Haha, I was really turned off after my first bite. It tasted really awful. Note to self : Stick to what you know Raceen.
After that, I went to get a hot dog because I was so hungry. Then my friend and I looked around to see what the other vendors were selling.
There were hand made jewellery.
My friend tried on rings and purchased one which was really nice
I wanted to have my portrait drawn but they didn’t take debit cards so that made me sad. Maybe next time.
We then got some ice cream because it was really hot!
We had a great time, despite the awful tasting poutine. I’ll probably be going to more festivals this summer.
It’s a way to get out of the house, explore and meet new people. I want to be outside more this summer. After all, summer only comes once every year and winter is so brutal here in Canada.
