I’m not a health nut or anything. In fact, I’m far from it. So, what gives me the right to speak about health? Well, I’m trying to be healthier. I’m trying to live till I’m 100 years old, ok?
Well, recently, I’ve been on The Water Challenge. What is the water challenge? My definition of the water challenge is, drinking as much water as possible in a day. Meaning, I drink at least 8-10 glasses of water daily.
I started this challenge because I noticed that I don’t drink enough water. Throughout the day, I’d probably only drink one glass of water and I said, “Hmm, this is probably not healthy at all Raceen”, so, I decided to make a change.
At first, it was really hard. You know, going from only drinking one glass of water, to drinking 8-10 glasses of water is hard. I had to force the water down, literally. Haha. But as the days progressed it got easier. They say it takes 21 days to form a habit right?
So, what are some benefits of drinking more water?
- Drinking More Water Helps Treat Headaches – I have migraines often, so I find that drinking water helps with the intensity. As soon as I feel a headache coming on I drink lots of water to make it go away.
- Drinking More Water Helps with Weight loss – I’ve noticed that since I’ve started drinking lots of water, I’ve lost a little weight. This is because water increases your metabolism and helps you feel full longer. It is recommended by scientists to drink water half an hour before meals to feel fuller longer.
- Drinking More Water helps with constipation – This is probably too much information but I’ll say it anyways. Drinking more water has made me poop more. Before I rarely pooped. I’m glad that it’s cleaning out my system.
Again, I’m not a health nut. I’m just trying to be healthier. I gotta start somewhere you know what I’m saying?
Also, I’m not forcing anyone to do what I do. Do what makes you feel comfortable.
This is what I’ve been doing and I just wanted to share.
What health challenges are you taking on this week? Is it hard to be healthy?
Will you join me in this challenge?

I am the same way! The only time I drank a lot of water was during my pregnancy but ever since I have stopped. I told myself for now on I am going to focus on drinking more water and try to cut down on caffeine! On the other hand my daughter loves water and drinks about 3 cups a day 😂
