Review: Clinique Stay Matte Oil – Free Makeup (Sample)

Everyone loves foundation! I mean, foundation is Everything! Who doesn’t love a good foundation that they can depend on, and use for years and years? Who doesn’t love quality foundation that meets their needs and matches their skin tones? I know, I do!

Today, I want to review Clinique Stay Matte Oil Free Makeup (Sample). I’ve never used the brand Clinique before, but I was excited to try this.

First Impressions

I didn’t know what my shade was so I chose the shade golden because it looked close to my foundation shade that I would normally use. When I applied it to my skin it felt really thick.

IMG_9321

The Results

The foundation seemed to be medium coverage or light coverage because it didn’t cover up my spots when I applied it. And it also didn’t really blend well. Also, I think that the shade that I chose was a little too dark for my skin tone. It was a little dry too as well and it didn’t really cover up my pores.

The Verdict

I’m going to give this foundation a 3/5 stars. It didn’t blend well. Also the coverage was too light, it seemed like I would have to use a lot to cover my spots. And I NEED  to cover my spots, you know what I’m saying. It seemed like it was really matte though, which I give the brand thumbs up for. I mean, when you have oily skin matte foundations are key.  Also the price wasn’t too bad, on sephora.com it costs $35, which is way cheaper than most foundations that cost $42 and up.

These are just my thoughts though. Maybe you tried it and loved it, everyone’s skin is different and have different makeup needs.

Have you ever tried this foundation before? If so, what did you think of it? Comment below

How to Wear Layers for Fall

Fall is upon us and it’s really cold outside. I don’t know where you live, but in Canada it feels like winter already. With the dropped temperatures it’s time for scarves, sweaters and boots. It’s time to layer up!  The only thing with layers is that, sometimes you get too hot, but I’d rather be hot than cold. You know what I’m saying?Today, I want to show you some really fashionable ways to wear layers.

IMG_9252.jpg

For this look, I wore a nude coat over my outfit as a cape. It really made the outfit pop.  and incorporated colour into my all black ensemble. It made my outfit look really high fashion. A black coat would have made the outfit boring.

IMG_9254

Under the coat, I wore a black blazer, this really provided a lot of warmth as I was only wearing a tank top underneath. The blazer was double breasted and it looked really smart on me.

IMG_9262

I also wore a really thick grey scarf to keep out the cold from my neck. This I bought from H&M a year ago.

There are so many ways that you can layer up for fall. You can wear cardigans under your jacket, scarves, sweatshirts with an added shirt underneath, so many ways!

Are you layering up? Or are you someone who likes the cold and doesn’t care about being warm? Comment below.

Fall Fashion Trends You Won’t See Me Wearing

I’m a trend whore!  Yes I am. As soon as a new trend comes out, I’m on it like hot chocolate and milk. Like bread and butter. Get it? But ,there are certainly some trends that you won’t see me wearing! Unfortunately, not everything looks good on me OK?

AfterlightImage

This Fall season is about taking being noticed and fierce animal attraction. All across the runway I see Neons, Animal prints, snakeskin styles…. so much to choose from! Here’s a list of the trends that you most likely will never see me in

1. Neon –  This one is just not for me. The only bright colours that I like are red and yellow. I just can’t see myself in Neon green and neon pink. I hate attention and this would be too much. Imagine me in neon orange. Yeah, I can’t imagine that either.

2.Animal print – Animal print is all over. I mean, every time I sign into instagram I see some influencer in animal print. It looks great on them but I can’t see myself in head to toe animal print. In fact, I don’t really like prints in general. Maybe I’d consider wearing an animal print bag or even a scarf. Little things you know?

3.Clueless Plaid – This trend looks really cool but too many bright colours for me. It’s just not my taste. I prefer normal plaids like red or green.

These are the trends that you will never see me in. I mean maybe one day I’ll change my mind but for now I don’t see myself in these things.

Never say Never they say.

Disclaimer : All these are my words and I’m just being honest. Some photos were taken from google and are labelled as such.

What did you think of this post? Have you tired any of these trends?

Review : Becca Skin Love Weightless Blur Foundation

Foundation is the one thing that I can’t live without. Put me on an island with other cosmetics and I’ll always choose foundation. A girl’s gotta cover up her spots, you know what I’m saying?

Today, I want to review the Becca  Skin Love Weightless Blur  Foundation. This is a breathable, medium coverage liquid foundation with a buildable finish that enhances the natural beauty of your skin, this is what the package states.

First Impressions

I decided to use the shade Maple because it seemed similar to the shade that I used with my regular foundation by Fenty Beauty.

1.So first thing, I really liked that it covered my spots. I didn’t have to use a lot of foundation to cover up. I really liked this, because with so many other foundations you have to use so much to cover everything.

2. It went on smoothly, I didn’t really have to blend it out too much.

After an Hour

After an hour, I checked back on my skin. I noticed that the foundation didn’t move. There was no oil dripping off my skin or anything.

The Downside

After the hour, I noticed that the foundation started flaking. It didn’t really look natural or feel breathable. It felt heavy on my skin.

The Verdict

I’m going to give this foundation a 3.5/5 stars. I liked the coverage the best and I liked that it went on smoothly. But after the hour it looked patchy and just ugly. It retails for $53 on Sephora.com. Would I spend that much money on this foundation? No, I don’t think it’s worth the price and the bottle looks really small for the price.

Yes, so this was my review of this foundation. What did you think of this post? Do you use this foundation? What did you think of it?

How Blogging Has Helped Me With my Wardrobe

Blogging is one of my favourite  creative outlets. I’ve been thinking about starting a blog but I didn’t know where to start but I did my research and here I am today. It’s been a fun ride of strategizing and figuring things out and I’m still learning everyday but I’m happy that I started.

Today, I’ll be sharing the ways blogging has helped me with my wardrobe in the last 6 months.

AfterlightImage

These are the ways that blogging has helped me with my wardrobe in the last 6 months

1 I’ve learned to utilize the clothes in my closet – Look, if I was rich I’d buy clothes all the time, but I’m not rich OK? Blogging has helped me really search and make use of the clothes in my closet. Now I feel like I’m a stylist or something because I’m so good at putting together outfits now. I just use the clothes in my closet and make them fashionable! And I save that way.

2 I think I became more stylish – I was always into fashion, but now I feel like my outfits are more elevated. Now, I feel like they are more put together and thought out. It makes me feel like I’m just coming off the runway.AfterlightImage

3 I’m more organized now – I’m the least organized person, but blogging has gotten me colour coordinating my closet and all that. I have to stay organized so that I can find my outfits. All my jeans are in one place now, where I can find them. My life is easy now.

4 It’s helped me figure out what fits and what has to go – On a weekly basis I take maybe 50 photos to post throughout the week. Blogging has helped me figure out what clothes look good on me and what has to go. I mean, the pictures show everything and I mean Everything. So now my closet isn’t piled up with clothes that don’t look good or don’t fit me anymore. Thanks blogging.

Yes, so these are all the ways that blogging has helped me improve my wardrobe. Going into this I didn’t think that I would learn so much in 6 months,  but I’m happy for the lessons. Blogging is hard work, but I enjoy it.
