Review: Clinique Stay Matte Oil – Free Makeup (Sample)

Everyone loves foundation! I mean, foundation is Everything! Who doesn’t love a good foundation that they can depend on, and use for years and years? Who doesn’t love quality foundation that meets their needs and matches their skin tones? I know, I do!

Today, I want to review Clinique Stay Matte Oil Free Makeup (Sample). I’ve never used the brand Clinique before, but I was excited to try this.

First Impressions

I didn’t know what my shade was so I chose the shade golden because it looked close to my foundation shade that I would normally use. When I applied it to my skin it felt really thick.

IMG_9321

The Results

The foundation seemed to be medium coverage or light coverage because it didn’t cover up my spots when I applied it. And it also didn’t really blend well. Also, I think that the shade that I chose was a little too dark for my skin tone. It was a little dry too as well and it didn’t really cover up my pores.

The Verdict

I’m going to give this foundation a 3/5 stars. It didn’t blend well. Also the coverage was too light, it seemed like I would have to use a lot to cover my spots. And I NEED  to cover my spots, you know what I’m saying. It seemed like it was really matte though, which I give the brand thumbs up for. I mean, when you have oily skin matte foundations are key.  Also the price wasn’t too bad, on sephora.com it costs $35, which is way cheaper than most foundations that cost $42 and up.

These are just my thoughts though. Maybe you tried it and loved it, everyone’s skin is different and have different makeup needs.

Have you ever tried this foundation before? If so, what did you think of it? Comment below

Fall Fashion Trends You Won’t See Me Wearing

I’m a trend whore!  Yes I am. As soon as a new trend comes out, I’m on it like hot chocolate and milk. Like bread and butter. Get it? But ,there are certainly some trends that you won’t see me wearing! Unfortunately, not everything looks good on me OK?

AfterlightImage

This Fall season is about taking being noticed and fierce animal attraction. All across the runway I see Neons, Animal prints, snakeskin styles…. so much to choose from! Here’s a list of the trends that you most likely will never see me in

1. Neon –  This one is just not for me. The only bright colours that I like are red and yellow. I just can’t see myself in Neon green and neon pink. I hate attention and this would be too much. Imagine me in neon orange. Yeah, I can’t imagine that either.

2.Animal print – Animal print is all over. I mean, every time I sign into instagram I see some influencer in animal print. It looks great on them but I can’t see myself in head to toe animal print. In fact, I don’t really like prints in general. Maybe I’d consider wearing an animal print bag or even a scarf. Little things you know?

3.Clueless Plaid – This trend looks really cool but too many bright colours for me. It’s just not my taste. I prefer normal plaids like red or green.

These are the trends that you will never see me in. I mean maybe one day I’ll change my mind but for now I don’t see myself in these things.

Never say Never they say.

Disclaimer : All these are my words and I’m just being honest. Some photos were taken from google and are labelled as such.

What did you think of this post? Have you tired any of these trends?

Review : Becca Skin Love Weightless Blur Foundation

Foundation is the one thing that I can’t live without. Put me on an island with other cosmetics and I’ll always choose foundation. A girl’s gotta cover up her spots, you know what I’m saying?

Today, I want to review the Becca  Skin Love Weightless Blur  Foundation. This is a breathable, medium coverage liquid foundation with a buildable finish that enhances the natural beauty of your skin, this is what the package states.

fullsizeoutput_208d

First Impressions

I decided to use the shade Maple because it seemed similar to the shade that I used with my regular foundation by Fenty Beauty.

1.So first thing, I really liked that it covered my spots. I didn’t have to use a lot of foundation to cover up. I really liked this, because with so many other foundations you have to use so much to cover everything.

2. It went on smoothly, I didn’t really have to blend it out too much.

After an Hour

After an hour, I checked back on my skin. I noticed that the foundation didn’t move. There was no oil dripping off my skin or anything.

The Downside

After the hour, I noticed that the foundation started flaking. It didn’t really look natural or feel breathable. It felt heavy on my skin.

The Verdict

I’m going to give this foundation a 3.5/5 stars. I liked the coverage the best and I liked that it went on smoothly. But after the hour it looked patchy and just ugly. It retails for $53 on Sephora.com. Would I spend that much money on this foundation? No, I don’t think it’s worth the price and the bottle looks really small for the price.

Yes, so this was my review of this foundation. What did you think of this post? Do you use this foundation? What did you think of it?

How Blogging Has Helped Me With my Wardrobe

Blogging is one of my favourite  creative outlets. I’ve been thinking about starting a blog but I didn’t know where to start but I did my research and here I am today. It’s been a fun ride of strategizing and figuring things out and I’m still learning everyday but I’m happy that I started.

Today, I’ll be sharing the ways blogging has helped me with my wardrobe in the last 6 months.

AfterlightImage

These are the ways that blogging has helped me with my wardrobe in the last 6 months

1 I’ve learned to utilize the clothes in my closet – Look, if I was rich I’d buy clothes all the time, but I’m not rich OK? Blogging has helped me really search and make use of the clothes in my closet. Now I feel like I’m a stylist or something because I’m so good at putting together outfits now. I just use the clothes in my closet and make them fashionable! And I save that way.

AfterlightImage

2 I think I became more stylish – I was always into fashion, but now I feel like my outfits are more elevated. Now, I feel like they are more put together and thought out. It makes me feel like I’m just coming off the runway.AfterlightImage

3 I’m more organized now – I’m the least organized person, but blogging has gotten me colour coordinating my closet and all that. I have to stay organized so that I can find my outfits. All my jeans are in one place now, where I can find them. My life is easy now.

AfterlightImage

4 It’s helped me figure out what fits and what has to go – On a weekly basis I take maybe 50 photos to post throughout the week. Blogging has helped me figure out what clothes look good on me and what has to go. I mean, the pictures show everything and I mean Everything. So now my closet isn’t piled up with clothes that don’t look good or don’t fit me anymore. Thanks blogging.

Yes, so these are all the ways that blogging has helped me improve my wardrobe. Going into this I didn’t think that I would learn so much in 6 months,  but I’m happy for the lessons. Blogging is hard work, but I enjoy it.

My dress is from Zara, you can shop it Here

My Favourite Stores to Shop At And Why

” You only shop at 3 stores in the mall, what?”, my brother asks in disbelief. Yes, I only shop at like 3 stores. I don’t know, I’m just hard to please. You know what I’m saying? It’s taken me a long time to figure out what I like, but I think I’ve finally found what I really like…. Keep Reading…

Everyone probably likes these stores but here they are….

1 Zara – Look Zara just gets me, or I get Zara? I don’t know but it’s my favourite store. I like that the pieces are so elegant and fashionable. Every time I wear something from Zara, I feel like I’m on the runway. I can find pieces for church, or a casual day out. I know some people have said that Zara is very expensive and yes some items are but you can find affordable items for 20$ and even less. You just gave to search.

2 Forever 21 – I like Forever 21 because they always have lots of different styles of jeans. Yes, jeans! I love jeans ok? I have like 20 pairs of jeans and most of them are from Forever21. They also have really cute summer clothes

fullsizeoutput_1c38

3 H&M – This store is a good place to find work outfits. They sell a lot of blazers and dress pants for affordable prices

AfterlightImage

Justfab – I love buying all my shoes from Justfab. They have so many styles!

I love these stores the most. They just have the types of clothes that I love to wear. Do I shop at other stores sometimes? Yes, but I always come back to these ones. They’re my favourite ok? Will I ever find new favourite stores, yes I just have to keep looking.

My blazer is from Forever 21, it’s really long so I wore it as a dress. I bought it about a year ago so they don’t have that olive colour anymore but they have it in cream. You can shop it Here

How to Incorporate Colour Into your Wardrobe

I don’t like wearing bright colours. Surprise! Haha, black is my favourite colour (Yes, I know black is a shade but I’d rather call it a colour, sue me). Recently though, I find that wearing bright  colours is sorta nice? It spices things up. It makes you stand out.  And I sorta kinda don’t completely hate the idea anymore. People change OK? Keep reading to find out how I incorporate colour into my wardrobe.….

AfterlightImage

It’s summer and I like to feel girly and airy. Summer is the time to definitely put your black and grey clothes in a suitcase  far away. I mean, I want to reflect feelings of joy and happiness so this summer especially, I wore a lot of yellows and reds. People definitely took notice. Here’s how you can do the same.

Wear a Bright Coloured Blazer – This blazer is about 2 years old. At first I didn’t want to purchase it but I was tired of wearing black all the time. The first time I wore it I got so many compliments. This can be worn as a dress or with trousers.

fullsizeoutput_19f0

Get a different coloured purse from your Outfit – Girls, you don’t always have to match everything. Your dress doesn’t have to match your shoes and purse. Style is all about taking risks. So if you’re wearing a blue dress you can wear a yellow purse.

fullsizeoutput_19f3

Try wearing bright Shades – I didn’t start getting into this trend until I saw Rihanna doing it in her wild thoughts music video. I was like “Yeah that looks so high fashion, let me go buy some pink shades”. I looked so bomb.

fullsizeoutput_19f2

Throw on bright sandals – This perks up your everyday work wear. Aldo has a great collection of colours  for those days when you want to spice things up.

fullsizeoutput_19f1

Yes, so those are some of the ways in which I incorporate colour into my wardrobe. Sometimes I feel weird because as I mentioned above I like wearing black but I figured that nothing great ever happened to anyone who stayed stuck in the comfort zone.

So break out. Break the rules.  Break free.

Try something new.

The Trend Report : Linen Styles

Linen is one of the biggest trends this season. In the past, I only thought of  linen as the clothing my Grandma wears on Sundays to Church. Remember those linen skirt suits that always got rumpled after sitting down? Remember those days? Haha, I feel so old. Continue reading….

IMG_7112

Linen this season is very elevated and fresh. It’s not just about those skirt suits that your grandma used to wear. Now, there are linen vests, dresses and cute linen pants.

IMG_7121

Linen is great for the summer. I love that linen is light and airy, it almost feels like you’re not wearing anything, which is something I live for. I just like to feel comfortable Ok?

AfterlightImage

I saw this dress in Winners a couple of weeks ago. I didn’t go into the store to buy clothes, I just wanted a beach towel, but then I saw this dress. I fell in love with it. When I looked at the rack, I only saw size small, so in my head I kept muttering, “God, please let my size be there” over and over. Look, I really wanted the dress OK? It was just so beautiful. There was only one on the rack, but I kept searching. I then said to myself, “Look on the other side”. Then I saw more sizes and I was so happy. I went to the changing room and I prayed that it would fit my upper chest, because I have huge boobs and it’s really hard to find cute stuff. that fit that part of my body. When I went into the changing room and  tried it on and saw that it fit I was so happy.

AfterlightImage

I like that this dress is a great example of how to wear modern linen. This dress can be worn with some nice heels and simple makeup. It didn’t crush that much. I really love this dress.

Linen isn’t just in neutral colours in 2018. There are bright coloured linen clothes and also dark colours as well like grey and black. I think linen is here to stay. What do you think?

What new trends are you trying this year? Have you ever worn linen before?
