Reflecting on 2018

2018 is almost over, can you believe it? I feel like the year went by so fast! How did we get to 2019 so quickly? It felt like summer was just yesterday!

Today, I want to reflect on 2018.I don’t think I’ve ever said this about any year before, but 2018 was a Good Year! I had so much fun this year.I started my blog and had so many new beginnings this year. I also had so much fun in the summertime and met some really cool people. I had bad days too, but they turned into good days at the end of the day.

I don’t want to reveal all my goals for next year, but for 2019 I want to ….

  • Travel – There are so many places I want to see, especially Europe. I want to go to Paris, Italy and Bali just to name a few.IMG_0849
  • I want to be more spontaneous and have more fun – I like to plan things, which is not a bad thing, but I want to learn to let go more. Sometimes the unexpected or unplanned things are the best things, which I’ve come to realize this year. Let it go, let it gooooo….fullsizeoutput_29f7
  • I want to meditate more – I have anxiety issues and I want to reduce those issues. I have been mediating for a little while and it has done wonders for my psyche. I just want to be calm ya’ll.

These are just some of the little things I want to do, I’m not trying to show all my goals to the world because some people don’t want you to succeed. I also find that working on your goals in silence is the best way! Not everyone needs to know what you’re doing.

2018 was a good year ya’ll, I pray that 2019 will even be better. I am Open to receiving more blessings.

How to Wear Layers for Fall

Fall is upon us and it’s really cold outside. I don’t know where you live, but in Canada it feels like winter already. With the dropped temperatures it’s time for scarves, sweaters and boots. It’s time to layer up!  The only thing with layers is that, sometimes you get too hot, but I’d rather be hot than cold. You know what I’m saying?Today, I want to show you some really fashionable ways to wear layers.

For this look, I wore a nude coat over my outfit as a cape. It really made the outfit pop.  and incorporated colour into my all black ensemble. It made my outfit look really high fashion. A black coat would have made the outfit boring.

IMG_9254

Under the coat, I wore a black blazer, this really provided a lot of warmth as I was only wearing a tank top underneath. The blazer was double breasted and it looked really smart on me.

I also wore a really thick grey scarf to keep out the cold from my neck. This I bought from H&M a year ago.

There are so many ways that you can layer up for fall. You can wear cardigans under your jacket, scarves, sweatshirts with an added shirt underneath, so many ways!

Are you layering up? Or are you someone who likes the cold and doesn’t care about being warm? Comment below.

A Day In The Life of A Blogger

I think I’ve said this countless times, “Blogging is like a second job”. It’s not a hard second job, it’s really fun,  but it’s a lot of work and effort. Instead of sleeping in, you have to wake up and plan outfits and write about them. It’s like your weekends aren’t yours anymore because they belong to blogging. But I’m happy, at least I get to immerse myself into something creative.

Today, I want to walk you through A day in my life as a Blogger.

AfterlightImage

So here’s how my day goes…..

1. I get ready – I wake up and take a shower. I used to take my blog photos early in the mornings in the summertime and I used  wake up at 7 am on Sundays, but now it’s really dark and ugly outside and I don’t want to spend hours editing my pics and adding light to them. So now ,I take my photos indoors, in my room to be precise. I start around 5 pm

2. I choose my Outfits – Look, I’m not one of those rich people who can afford to buy clothes all the time. I buy clothes occasionally for events. When blogging, I don’t necessarily plan my outfits the night before. Sometimes ,I’ll just walk into my closet and say, “Hmm, that pants would look great with that shirt”, and that’s how I come up with my outfits. And sometimes I get inspiration from Instagram. It’s all very random, it’s not something that I plan really. I always have one outfit for my blog, and I also take additional photos  of different outfits for my instagram as well.

3. I set up my Camera – I used to have a photographer, then my mom started taking my photos for me. Now, I take them by myself. So how do I take them by myself? I use my tripod, and I use my Iphone 7. I have a professional camera, but the focus on it is trash so now I use my phone. I also have a light in my room that enhances my pictures. And I put my phone on self timer for 10 seconds and I take a whole bunch of photos.

4 I edit my photos – Editing is not a long process for me. I use Afterlight because it has dust and I like the presets as well. It basically has everything that I like to add to my photos, and it’s really easy to use. Sometimes I use Vsco cam and Lightroom as well.

5. I blog – Coming up with a topic to blog about, is hard sometimes. I have a list of topics but sometimes it’s still hard to find one that fits.. I always do my blogs based on the photos I take. Maybe I should change that though. Sometimes I also find inspiration from other bloggers. It takes me an hour to blog, depending on what I’m blogging about but I enjoy writing. It’s one of the subjects that I truly enjoyed in High school.

This is how my Fashion blogging days usually go. This is a day in the life of Raceen, the Fashion blogger. It’s a lot of work but I know that one day it will pay off. And it’s actually things that I LOVE TO DO. I LOVE to write, I LOVE taking photos and I LOVE editing.

Blogging is the best.

One Blouse, 3 Ways

IMG_8308

“I have nothing to wear”. Have you ever uttered those words before? I know, I have. Sometimes it’s just hard to find clothes ok? I wish I was one of those rich,  celebrities who have an infinite number of clothes you know? Life would be so much easier! But, I’m not rich, so I have to make do with what I have. You can always make a brand new outfit out of the clothes, that you do own. Make it work girl. Today I’ll be showing you how I styled One Blouse in 3 ways.

So I bought this top about a year ago and this is how I styled it in 3 ways.

Blouse with Jeans

I styled the top with jeans from forever 21. These are some of my favourite jeans because it’s embroidered with pizza on it. It’s just different and I like different. This style can be worn on a night out with friends or a party. I purchased these jeans about 3 years ago, so they are sold out, but you can purchase similar ones Here. The blouse is from Zara but it’s a year old but you can find similar ones Here

Blouse with A Skirt

This look can be worn to church. The plaid skirt is from H&M. I really like this look because it’s very sophisticated. The green blouse  makes the outfit pop. The skirt is old but you can find similar styles Here

Blouse with Trousers

This look can be worn to the office. The pants are pinstriped and are from this local store called Suzy shier in my community. You change shoes and put on stilettos or flats.

Yes, so this is how I styled this blouse in 3 different ways. You don’t have to be rich or have plenty of clothes to look fashionable. You can work with what you have. Instead of spending money all the time to buy new clothes, just style the ones you have differently. It’s easy!
